Most of the factory patches on the SRX-02 Concert Piano board switch clumsily between its four stereo sample layers (p, mp, f and ff). These patches smooth out the velocity switching considerably. Reverb is used sparingly and there's no velocity cross-fading, so each key you press uses only 2 voices of polyphony.
I was disappointed by Roland's piano programming on this board, and felt that to get my $300 worth out of it I'd have to do it myself. The samples themselves are quite good, and I think these patches do them justice.
Requires: an SRX-02 Concert Piano board installed in the XV-5080 (or another SRX-compatible XV synth). Each patch comes as a Standard MIDI File or a raw SysEx file. Play either one into the XV-5080 to load it.
