Drag the points: attack across, decay across and sustain up and down, release across.
A patch editor for the Roland V-Synth and V-Synth XT.
Edit every patch on your Mac with interactive graphics, hear each change on the V-Synth as you make it, and keep all your patches, settings and projects in one searchable library.
Coming soon to the Mac App Store
For macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
The V-Synth draws its envelopes, filters and LFOs on its screen. So does V-Synth Patch Composer, and you can drag them. Try these three, drawn the same way as in the app.
Drag the points: attack across, decay across and sustain up and down, release across.
Drag the point across for cutoff and up and down for resonance.
Drag the wave across for rate and up and down for offset.
The Sound Designer layout follows the V-Synth's own screens, with groups and tabs for the Oscillators, the Modulator, both COSM blocks, the Amplifier and the effects. Choices are buttons, drawn as the V-Synth draws them.
Prefer the details? The Engineer layout lists every parameter in the order the V-Synth stores it.
Every multi-effect, chorus and reverb type is drawn: delays as echoes, reverbs as their decay, equalizers as their curve, compressors and drives as what they do to a note. Drag the drawings to change them.
The routing diagram shows how each Zone reaches the effects, and how the effects feed each other.
Live Edit sends each change to the V-Synth as you make it. Turn on Tx Edit on the V-Synth, and edits made on its panel come back into the app.
Play the V-Synth from the Mac with the Musical Keyboard: the mouse, the computer keyboard, trackpad pressure for aftertouch and scrolling for the modulation wheel.
Draw a Step Modulator track in one stroke. Press steps into the arpeggio pattern. Drag a Zone's edge on the keyboard to split it. Each drag is one step of undo.
Load and send patches, System and Setup over MIDI. Import and export V-Synth project folders, with their samples, Patch Palette and Sampling Template names. Save a library as one file to back it up or move it to another Mac.
Tag patches with keywords, write notes, and search by name, keyword, note or any setting. Export patches as MIDI files, or drag them straight into a DAW.
Describe a sound in words, and a language model sets up the patch. Then refine it in a conversation. Auto Compose works with a model on your own Mac, such as LM Studio or Ollama, or with a cloud service you have an account with.
It is off until you set it up, and it asks before it sends anything to a server for the first time.
