Music made with it

On Peace it plays on “Moving On” and “Persistence of Time (2011)”. On A Very Mellow Christmas it filled in around Logic Pro’s software instruments.

About the JV-2080

The JV-2080 is essentially the rack-mount version of the XP-80. It has the same Super JV synth engine and sounds, but adds two more EFX processors (three different effects can run at once in Performance mode), four more SR-JV80 expansion slots for eight in all, two pairs of direct outputs alongside the main mix outputs, and a DATA card slot for storing patches, rhythm sets and performances. Being a module, it has no keyboard, and it leaves out the XP-80’s sequencer, arpeggiator and floppy drive. Roland released it in 1997 as the successor to the JV-1080.

I got mine in 2009, when I realised I missed some of the sounds the XP-80 made. It’s on my album Peace and on A Very Mellow Christmas, and I used it to record the XP-80 demo songs on this site.
