Privacy policy
Effective October 22, 2026.
In short
V-Synth Patch Composer does not collect any information about you. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it sends nothing to its developer.
What stays on your Mac
Your libraries, patches, keywords, notes, samples and settings are stored on your Mac: in the app's own container, and in library and project files where you save them. They are not uploaded anywhere by the app.
MIDI
The app exchanges MIDI messages with the instruments connected to your Mac. Those messages do not leave your studio.
Auto Compose
Auto Compose is off unless you turn it on and enter the address of a language-model server of your choosing, which may be on your own computer or a service run by someone else.
- When you send a request, the app sends that server what you typed, the conversation so far, the patch zone's settings and the names of the waves it can use. It does not send your notes, keywords or the library's name.
- The first time you send to each server, the app asks for your permission and says what will be sent.
- Fetch Models and Test Connection in Settings also contact that server. The test sends a short fixed question, nothing from your library.
- If you enter an API key, it is stored in the app's settings on your Mac and sent only to that server.
- That server's own terms and privacy policy govern what it receives. The developer of V-Synth Patch Composer does not receive it.
- A log of each request's counts and timings is kept on your Mac, in the app's container, for your own use. It does not contain your API key.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in macOS's Privacy & Security settings, Apple may pass crash reports for this app to its developer. They are anonymous, and are used only to fix problems.
Children
The app collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published with a new app version as well as here with a new effective date.
