How Effects Units Work in Performance Mode with Output Assign Set to PATCH

Effects in Performance mode set to PATCH graphic
(XP-80 Owner's Manual, pg. 39. Copyright 1996, Roland Corp.). Each line represents the output signal from a Tone to an effects unit. The circles with arrows through them represent attenuators (volume controls) which adjust the Send Levels to each of the three effects units. In this illustration, Part 1's Output Assign is set to "PATCH" allowing the individual Send Levels for each Tone in Part 1's Patch to be used, while still allowing the Part's attenuators (Send Levels) overall control over its Patch's Send Levels.
