How Effects Units Work in Performance Mode with Output Assign Set to EFX

Effects in Performance mode on EFX graphic
(XP-80 Owner's Manual, pg. 39. Copyright 1996, Roland Corp.). The lines represent a Tone's output signal to an effects unit. The circles with arrows through them represent attenuators (volume controls) to adjust the Send Level to the three effects processors. In this illustration, Part 1's Output Assign is set to "EFX" which ignores the settings of the individual Tones' Send Levels for the Patch. Thus, the Send Levels for Part 1 substitute the Send Levels for ALL the active Tones in Part 1's Patch.
