Responsible for troubleshooting and instructing in the use of dial-up and broadband Internet access on multiple platforms, utilization of various Internet protocols, diagnosis of personal computer software and hardware issues, utilization of campus PeopleSoft portal, and interaction with the campus iPlanet Messaging Server. Responsible for creating and maintaining The Help Center web site used by faculty, staff, students, and associates of the University.

 

Achievements

á      Lead technical implementation of The Help Center web site utilizing JSP, Perl, and UNIX shell scripting to customize user experience.

á      Created web-based department interface for identifying users using campus LDAP authentication server.

á      Programmed menu-based Command Line Interface to find broadband DHCP lease and client information.

á      Developed department web interface to search user access logs in an Oracle database.

á      Assist fellow employees with UNIX-related questions and Mac OS technical support questions.

Configured and maintained iPlanet Web Server for multiple domains. Administered iPlanet Messaging and Directory servers on multiple hosts for multiple domains with over 70,000 users. Administered NNTP, web proxy, and SurfControl filtering services. Maintained L-Soft ListServ software for campus community. Regularly used Legato Networker for enterprise server backups to tape. Was responsible for testing and installing numerous enterprise software packages.

 

Achievements

á      Independently researched, tested, and implemented web server log analysis tools to graphically represent campus-wide web site hits data, providing the Web Office with information critical for program funding.

á      Lead and implemented enterprise hardware and application monitoring on over 30 Sun servers for entire California State University, Fresno campus.
